  1. One of my computers died today and I've worked on that most of the evening. I love Dropbox! And since I can't count words applied to the short story I'm working on...

    Today's tally: 195
    Running total: 7,630

    Ended with:
"I ask you because of that sorrow. It's not enough that they take our lands. They take our lives when opportunity affords them a chance. They take our offspring even before they've breathed their first breath. Soon there will be no land for dragons to call home."

    2. My condolences for the loss. Whenever somebody dies something of you is lost with them, but never more true than with a computer. And when you don't have back up updated you want to die too. I know about it.

    3. Now I need to see if I can find a power adapter to use two of the Western Digital hard drives from the old PC. Figures they wouldn't use the standard power cable connection that been in place for the last twenty years. I wonder if Radio Shack has them....

    4. really? You sure they're no SATA drives? (in which case they wouldn't be the 4 pin molex).

    5. Yeah, I had to pick up a Y-cable, molex to SATA. Will be testing them here VERY shortly.

    6. Now I'm back in business! 2.4TB storage again at my fingertips, but alas, only via one PC. Yeah, that makes FOUR internal hard drives... (+1 300GB USB external)

May need to pick up a laptop anyway. Got my Orson Scott Card writing workshop coming up next month...

  2. 1441. Not bad for a day but not good considering I am supposed to have more than 16000 words by now to get the 50,000 by the end of the month. I'll keep trying nonetheless.

  3. I managed to complete 1932 words today. I give all the credit to my wife who acted as my muse when I was getting tired and sent me back to write.
