  1. TonyR 54,173 Not much progress, because of the editing of backstory to integrate Jennifer, my new character. It's odd looking at some solid writing and having to cut it up so I can change a reference to include someone else or make them the attraction of a new scene. Some of those scenes will have to gone over again, I'm afraid, as they aren't as robust as I can make them (they still read "tacked on").

I'm amazed (surprised perhaps) at the littlest things I suppose, when it comes to writing. I saved my manuscript out formatted with margins, double space, etc. and the thing, unfinished, is 259 pages. Holy Crap! 259 Pages? I know...you're thinking "You're at 54K words...of course its going to be 259 double spaced pages, you idiot." I'm at a point where I could almost bludgeon someone to death with my manuscript and then do some much needed editing and thereby dispose of the murder weapon...Bwahahahaha.

  2. I've managed 1130... trying really really hard not to go into editing mode! that's where I usually mess up, get stuck, hate it and quit. I Shall not brake!

Tony, ah, no, bludgeoning is a wee bit mucky?!? :-)

  3. My distant muse has chosen to descend today, it seems. Today I had an idea of what I was writing, for the first time. 3,720 words. I'll buy her a drink and see if she stays for tomorrow.

  4. Had to wrap up a number of obligations today and dabble with the talking cat challenge...

    Today's tally: 102
    Running total: 6,324
    Ended with:

"Don’t petition him with only blues, Brenathir. Garner support from the grays at least. Otherwise he’ll see you as speaking only for your herd and not for all of us."

"We are all dragons. Color is irrelevant."

  6. TonyR 55,024. Funny story. I'm using Scrivener to write my novel. Seems that when you compile your story into manuscript format, you have the option of including or excluding chapters or scenes from the manuscript file. The funny bug part is that during normal writing, when you do a word count (its not continuous), it doesn't include what you deselected from the compile function. So I have been at 54,173 for a couple days of editing and adding. After I checked the box to include the scene, my count jumped to 55,024.

Suddenly, Windows notepad is looking pretty good.. LOL
